BI 441
Adv Molecular Biotechnology
A course that emphasizes modern principles and techniques that are emerging in molecular biotechnology. Topics may
include novel recombinant protein expression hosts/systems, mechanisms of gene therapy, “omics”-
based approaches for discovery/detection and the use of other molecular tools for specific industrial, biomedical and
environmental applications. Students will have the opportunity to explore these topics through lectures,
presentations and independent research of the primary literature.
Prerequisites: BI341 or (BI338 or BI346 or CH351).
Notes: 3 lecture hours, 3 lab hours.
